Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering & Technology, Dharwad was established in the year 1979 under the flagship of SDME Society and has grown into one of the nationally acclaimed premier engineering institutions in the country. The SDMCET Dharwad 275.88 KWp rooftop solar power plant was set up for three buildings on the campus. Both the plants were installed on the RCC roofs of the buildings and supply power directly to the load below. Any excess power generated is fed back to the public grid which is “Net Metered” to get credit for the excess. The energy fed to the facility are measured using a certified energy meter and billed monthly to the client
The rooftop solar PV installed capacity at SDMCET Dharwad is 275.88KWp, is constructed using high performance 380kWp mono-crystalline solar PV modules totaling 726 nos., 3 nos. 50KW and 2 no. 33KW high-efficiency Sungrow inverter enabled with online monitoring which will help to understand and track real-time electricity production and consumption on the go. The solar PV plant was commissioned in August 2020.
