Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Dental Sciences is a dental school in Karnataka, India. It is located in Dharwad and was founded in 1986. It is located at Sattur, Dharwad on National Highway 4. Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College of Dental Sciences offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The vision that saw the founding of the SDM institutions has always been clear – enlistment of society through education. But maintaining this clarity of vision even as it is translated into reality is no easy task given the diversity and spread of these institutions. The Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Education Society has however proved equal to the task.
The SDM College of Dental Science, Sattur 216.6 kWp rooftop solar power plant is set up for two buildings on the campus. Both the plants were installed on the RCC roofs of the buildings and will supply power directly to the load below. Any excess power generated is fed back to the public grid which is “Net Metered” to get credit for the excess. The energy fed to the facility are measured using a certified energy meter and billed monthly to the client.
The rooftop solar PV installed capacity at SDM College of Dental Sciences, Sattur is 216.6 KWp, is constructed using high performance 380kWp mono-crystalline solar PV modules totaling to 570 nos., 3 nos. 50KW and 1 no. 20KW high-efficiency Sungrow inverter enabled with online monitoring which will help to understand and track real-time electricity production and consumption on the go. The solar PV plant was commissioned in September 2020.
