Golden Hatcheries has been producing its own feed over these 2 decades, however recently they decided to split this division into a separate branch as the feed activity had grown substantially. Golden Feeds owns a brand new 400-ton per day feed unit to cater to this requirement. The plant is located in Hiriyur town, Chitradurga district. Feed from this unit is primarily supplied to our own group companies like Golden Hatcheries, Golden Fresh, and standard Farms as of the moment. This division has operated separately since April 2013.

Hatcheries need to have electricity all the time, a lot of important activities that take place in hatcheries require power. The activities such as influencing incubation, temperature, humidity, ventilation, and the turning of eggs are based on using electricity, stopping these activities will lead to failure in the process. Golden Feeds adopting solar helped to reduce their electricity bills and made all their activities in hatchery uninterrupted.

Golden feeds

Golden Feeds installed a 576kW capacity rooftop solar power plant at Hiriyur town, Karnataka using 1440 of 400 kWp PV modules by Jinko and 8 nos of SolarEdge inverters complete the technical setup for the solar power plant. The company has opted for the Capex model and the solar power plant was commissioned on 18th April 2020. Golden Feeds opting for solar has not only resulted in lower electricity bills but also has given them an opportunity to contribute towards sustainable development and build a green brand image.

The contribution made by Golden Feeds to the environment by adopting solar power.

Golden feeds environmental savings

The solar power plant generation is approximately 8,29,440 units per annum offsetting the facility’s total energy consumption. The adoption of solar power has resulted in high sustainable and green energy choices which motivate towards a substantial environmental impact moving to a greener and cleaner source of energy.

The Indian poultry and hatchery market stood at around $ 15 billion in 2018 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of over 12% to reach $ 29.6 billion by 2023, this is the right time to look for alternative energy sources and become environment friendly.
